Meet Jesse Vess
Owner & CEO of Vess Aviation
My name is Jesse Vess, and I’m an independent flight instructor based in North Georgia. My journey into aviation has been nothing short of incredible.

It all started on my birthday when my mom took me to a local airport. A family friend offered to take me up in a small plane, and from the moment we lifted off the ground, I was hooked. The thrill of flying captured my heart, and from that day forward I knew aviation would be my future.

After high school, I worked hard to save money while earning my Private Pilot License. I later attended ATP Flight School where I completed my Commercial Pilot License and became a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI).
Throughout my aviation journey, I realized that I wanted more than just a career in aviation—I wanted to build something meaningful. Combining my passion for flying with my entrepreneurial spirit led me to start Vess Aviation.
My goal is simple: help people in North Georgia achieve their aviation dreams.

A Personal Approach to Flight Training
Early in my aviation journey, I had the opportunity to train with an independent flight instructor. That experience had such a positive impact on me that it shaped the entire direction of my career.

That instructor believed in me, supported my growth, and guided me through challenges. I’m forever grateful for the influence he had on my path.
Now my goal is to be that same person for my students.
Whether you want to fly professionally or simply enjoy aviation as a hobby, I want to help guide you through the process and make your journey as rewarding as possible.
Why I Chose Independent Instruction
I’m truly a people person. Getting to know people, building relationships, and networking with others is something that excites me every day.

One of the biggest reasons I chose the independent route is the opportunity to build real connections with my students. Large flight schools can often feel impersonal, with hundreds of students and instructors constantly rotating.
At Vess Aviation, the focus is different.
I believe strong relationships create better pilots. When an instructor truly understands their student’s goals, strengths, and challenges, the learning process becomes much more effective.
For me, teaching isn’t just about flying an airplane—it’s about helping people grow, succeed, and reach their full potential.
